General
Aleanna Cellar, later known by the name of its wines, El Enemigo, is a pioneering company formed by Adrianna Catena, the youngest daughter of Nicolas Catena and Alejandro Vigil, the chief winemaker of Bodega Catena Zapata for the last 13 years.
It produces one of the best wines in Argentina and also one of the best Cabernet Franc wines worldwide. This is because the Gualtallary region has almost perfect conditions for Cabernet Franc.
Its main wine, Gran Enemigo Gualtallary, belongs to a single vineyard, located in Tupungatito, the northernmost subregion of the Uco Valley in Mendoza. The subregion has an incredible altitude, with its own volcano, which erupted in 1987; as such, the soil abounds in deep calcareous matter perfect for the cultivation of Malbec and Cabernet Franc at high altitude, about 1430 meters in the case of the Gualtallary vineyard.
His wine 'El Enemigo' symbolizes the battle of man against oneself, the original enemy, the battle that defined each of the owners of this winery. It is a wine of great structure and concentration; a cut that inspires and recalls the good times of the past and brings the historical and artisanal aspects of the cultivation of the vines and their winemaking.
