The curious fruit of the kiwi with an elliptical appearance and a skin full of villi is native to the slopes of the Himalayas, with the countries of China, New Zealand, Brazil, Italy and Chile being the main producers of the cultivation of this exotic fruit with a sweet and sour and very refreshing taste.
The kiwi is born in a climbing plant with the same name of the fruit and belonging to the actinidiaceae family that are distributed throughout the southern hemisphere of the planet offering us different varieties such as kiwi kaquiara, MG-6, Monty, abbot, bruno, Kramer, Blake, tomuri, matua or the actinidia delicious which is the variety that we usually consume in Spain, being its best time to consume it from the month of October to May.
From its physiognomy we will highlight its brown color and its cover full of villi, a pulp with a delicate emerald green color decorated with black nuggets in the shape of a circle. To consume it, the best choice will be to look for pieces that do not present stains or deformations due to excessive ripening, since its flavor changes as well as its texture, to preserve it we can leave it at room temperature or in the fridge, with which we can keep it for about a month while outdoors it can last us up to fifteen days.
