Argentina's National team World Cup championship had an effect on stock market.

A few days ago, it was speculated that the FIFA World Champion awakes some kind of trend on the national economy, as it became more popular to the world, at least the first three months. One example was when in 2002, Brazil were crowned champions, and had that effect, they got a few benefits to their country's economy.

Last Wednesday, Wall Street had a peculiar movement in their stocks, all of those being from argentine origin. There are almost 10 companies whose stocks raised their value a 6%, and this happened since Argentina celebrated their World Cup title.

The ADRs, which are the papers of Argentine companies that are traded on Wall Street, had strong increases that exceeded 5 or 6 percent in companies such as Mercado Libre, YPF, Vista Energy, Grupo Galicia, Banco Francés or Pampa Energía. Locally, the S&P Merval index that cores leading stocks also rose 2.3 percent.

YPF is the one that most sense on their stock value rise makes, because the energetic company is one of the main sponsors of Argentina National team. In fact During the World Cup they made a publicity where Lionel Messi says “el amor por la Selección Argentina, una energía única en el mundo” (the love for Argentina, a unique energy in the world), clearly in reference to the energetic company.

This way, there is evidently a beginning of Argentina’s World championship effect on economy. There might be a direct rising on transactions but Lionel Messi’s effect reached Wall Street stock market.
