What is the red tea?
With the original name of Pu Erh, this tea comes from the Pu'er region of Yunnan (China) and was consumed only by the nobility for hundreds of years. In fact, unlike other teas that are drunk fresh, this variety of Camellia sinensis is fermented for a minimum of two years and a maximum of 60 in bamboo barrels, hence its reddish hue.
Among its benefits, its antioxidant power stands out, supported by various studies. Therefore, the Spanish Heart Foundation highlights some of the properties of red tea such as taking care of our cardiovascular health, lowering cholesterol and blood sugar levels, among others.
