The brand name 47 Street came about by chance. In 2001, when launching their first batch of t-shirts, the entrepreneur's girlfriend had shop number 47 in a Buenos Aires gallery where she sold jewelry. In her haste, she used the self-adhesive "47 Street" stickers from the envelopes as labels. The brand grew, the name stuck, and they eventually married. Six years later, his wife joined the design team and has been actively involved in the business ever since.
