The brand name 47 Street came about by chance. In 2001, when launching their first batch of t-shirts, the entrepreneur's girlfriend had shop number 47 in a Buenos Aires gallery where she sold jewelry. In her haste, she used the self-adhesive "47 Street" stickers from the envelopes as labels. The brand grew, the name stuck, and they eventually married.
