The Laurus nobilis's leaves are called Laurel. This plant is native to the Mediterranean region and it is used for seasoning different dishes as bay leaf. It is also known as bay laurel, sweet bay, true laurel and Grecian laurel.

Laurel can be used for seasoning different dishes in various recipes, as well as an ornament. IT is most commonly used in Italian recipes, like sauces and pasta. They are often removed from dishes before serving since it is traditionally added as a whole leaf, unless used as garnish.
