Argentina and Venezuela Meet For An Economic Agreement

12/06/2022

Argentina consolidates its increase in exports to Venezuela.

Argentine companies developed a trade mission to the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela, organized and coordinated by the Foreign Ministry together with the local embassy in Caracas, with the objective of increasing exports to that destination and reestablishing an exchange according to the joint potential of both nations, all this within the framework of the recent attempt from both sides to restore economic relations.

In this second edition of the program called “Argentina and Venezuela twinned by production”, the companies Biogenesis Bagó, Lechera Santa Clara and the integrated pig producer ISOWEAN S.A. participated. The first part of this mission was integrated by the companies Rizobacter (leader in agricultural microbiology for better crop development), Tedeschi (agricultural machinery), Hersems (hybrid seeds), Chemtec (agrochemicals) and Bernardin (agricultural machinery), this in the context of Argentina looking to invest capital in Venezuela’s agriculture, which will significantly increase and expand the country's exports in all areas of the sector in a sustained way.

This project responds to the Venezuelan needs of raising increasing the planting of corn, rice, soybeans, sunflower, cotton and sorghum, and move towards some kind of alimentary independence. On the other sides of the mission, the Argentine embassy, in charge of Oscar Laborde, designed a previous agenda of activities and meetings between businessmen and Venezuelan authorities from several States, in order to explore challenges and opportunities.

In this business mission, each of the companies involved, with the accompaniment and advice of the Argentine Foreign Ministry and the embassy in Caracas, made concrete progress in its field. In the case of Biogenesis Bagó (specialized in the development, production and commercialization of animal health products), a plan was agreed with Venezuela that contemplates a first delivery of 10 million doses of foot-and-mouth vaccines, a primary objective of the local authorities. The laboratory already exports this vaccine to many countries, including Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Kuwait, Jordan, South Korea, Vietnam and Israel.
